Notes

The Cambridge building, once Edmonton’s premier office building, sat vacant for a few years before its conversion to residential condos. During this conversion, the 60s mechanical systems were removed, leaving the top-floor mechanical room vacant. The room was simple – metal cladding, no windows, no insulation and just one door.

This blank canvas has been transformed into a spectacular Manhattan-style penthouse with unparalleled views, and is full of innovative, sustainable features. Notably, the penthouse’s only heat source is the excess heat generated by the vintage elevator equipment. This heat was previously wasted, and now heats the entire space.
