Notes

Our office GDU, together with Antonio Plá architects have been hired to prepare the master plan, architecture and landscape architecture of the campus, plant, laboratories, offices and the corporate dining hall for employees and executives. The campus will contain similar companies and future projects for the company.

The Dining hall was located in the higher portion of the site, in the midst of an old avocado orchard. Taking advantage of the slope, a potable water cistern was located next to the building, creating a still water mirror which partially surrounds the dining hall, creating a pleasant aquatic landscape.

The roof form was tilted towards the north façade to open views to distant and near mountains and to capture natural light. The inclination of the roof allows rain water to be deposited in the still water fountain and into the cistern. The building has natural cross ventilation allowing windows to open and close. The dining hall has become an important social center where scientists, employees, workers and executives interact, as well as a space of tranquility, relax and meditation.
